Giovedì 23 Ottobre '08 alle 15.00 inaugura a Firenze presso la Fortezza da Basso il Festival della Creatività di cui anche la mostra di design dal titolo Memoriae Visionariae. L'esposizione sarà visitabile per tutta la durata del festival dal 23 al 26 Ottobre. Gio e il suo Burton vi aspettano!

Sei tra i più significativi esponenti del nuovo design italiano hanno accettato di frequentare la loro memoria personale, collettiva e antropologica per scovare sacche di luce visionaria intrappolate nel passato reso oscuro degli oggetti: Paolo Ulian, JoeVelluto, Alessandra Baldereschi, Controprogetto, Sovrappensiero e il nostro GIOVANNI DELVECCHIO. La trasformazione, il riutilizzo, la metamorfosi delle cose sono modalità linguistiche ampiamente recepite dal design contemporaneo. La mostra Memoriae Visionariae propone un momento di esplicitazione di questo nuovo "saper fare" tanto diffuso nel sentire delle nuove generazioni di creativi per favorirne la sperimentazione non solo nella forma linguistica (il riutilizzo fine a se stesso) ma nel merito di ciò che si tenta di dire attraverso la mutazione aperta degli oggetti d′uso. Si possono psicanalizzare gli oggetti per vedere dove si annidano i futuri alternativi che non hanno (ancora) avuto? Che aspetto avrebbero quelle evoluzioni del possibile che sono state loro negate a vantaggio del solo sviluppo reale che hanno avuto? Gli oggetti del passato non sono come quelli di oggi, che nascono per bruciare in fretta. In essi si sono depositati gli strati del tempo e i sentimenti di chi con essi ha vissuto e sentito la vita. Sono oggetti densi nei quali si nascondono nuclei d′energia dormienti su cui tendiamo a sorvolare ma che sono sempre lì, pronti ad esplodere e forse a far implodere l′intero sistema "design" come lo conosciamo oggi. Il futuro viene da lontano; è cominciato tanto tempo fa. Quando ricordiamo e progettiamo attiviamo la stessa area del cervello. Il ricordo non è mai il rispecchiamento fedele di un episodio passato ma sempre una sua interpretazione, un suo aggiustamento, un suo "design". Ricordare è progettare all′indietro. Progettare è ricordare in avanti?
